Bloomfield 2012

Bloomfield was a little different this year.  We had a good time.  Went on Wednesday.  Mary's ,Connie, Jeanine and I were there most of the week.  Dan picked up Katlin Thursday night and brought her but couldn't come till Friday night to stay. Dick came every day and stayed till after supper.  So glad he came had lots of fun playing games.  It was pretty cold.  Actually the temperature was not bad but the wind blew 90 miles an hour it seemed. Made it seem way cold..  We went garage saleing both Thursday and Friday mornings.  Got a few bargains.  There were certainly enough to go to.  Katlin and Taylor and Casey got asked to be on a float for Davis County Homecoming.  I thought it was really funny but groupies that we are we all traipsed to town to watch.    They actually had a nice parade.  I am sure every child in Bloomfield was in the parade in some way.   We had a nice shady spot and took lawn chairs.  Even got a little candy thrown at us.  so was a pleasant afternoon.

Friday night Dan and Katlin got asked to play with Bluegrass Addiction.  They did a good job and was fun to listen to.

Here is a picture of Ellerie and her little friend.  I forget her name Kaylin or something like that.  They played at the kids show and did a pretty good job.  Katlin did a good job I am going to post it on You Tube.  Rusty Strangs did a final performance Saturday afternoon and went to see that.  Katlin did amazing. Casey is enlisting in the Marines after graduation so this is his final year.  Don't know if the girls can find a new guitar player or not.  But they all did really good and looked like they were having a really good time.  They were supposed to play again that night but for some unknown reason they closed the Ryman stage Saturday night. The weather was pretty good for Bloomfield.  Could have been less windy but have been there when it was a lot worse.

Cousins Genealogy Day

We had a cousins genealogy day to look over each others pictures and compare notes.  Betty and Bob Keller, Glenn Leathers, Larry and Mary Ann, John Reed. Dick, Mary and Donnie, Connie and I all had a visit and exchanged memories.   We should get together with that side of the family more often.   Learned a few things about the Leathers family.

Dan's Birthday

We celebrated Dan's birthday early this year.  They are going to Winfield Ks. to the Walnut Valley Music Festival  on his birthday.  I didn't ask but baked him his normal German Chocolate cake.  It was a different mix but was pretty good.

He didn't want jeans this year!  Usually that is all he asks for for his birthday and Christmas but must have gotten caught up.    He wanted a Sodastream. So Cindy's and I went together  and got one.  ( He said he heard on the radio that you need to turn your head to the right when having you picture taken for the best picture.  He tried it.  I can't see a difference but oh well)

The refills for Dr Pepper are called Dr Pete.  That is want he is smiling about.  Hope it is good.    39 and holding.

First Day of Four Year Old Preschool

Kyann's first day of 4 year olds Preschool.  This year she goes in the afternoons and four days a week instead of 2 mornings a week.    She looks like a little professor.  And she could probably teach the teachers a thing or two!
