New York Final Day

Our last day in New York.  Up again at 6.  The cold front that was suppose to come through earlier in the week finally made it and we had to turn off the air conditioner.  I had been sleeping with ear plugs cause we were on a busy street but Sherri couldn't use ear plugs.  She really noticed the noise that night.  Our final breakfast at Cranberry Cafe.   Fruit and bagel this morning.  We went back to the room and finished packing.  Checked out of the hotel with no problem.  It was pretty cold outside.  We drug our suitcases the five blocks to the place where the bus to the airport had let us off.  We stood for a while but no buses came by.  Only one on the other side of the street.  .  Finally Sherri looked up at the sign and it said drop offs only.    Hummm! We finally asked a street cleaner and he said in very broken English that the bus picked up across the street.  We drug our suitcases over there and sure enough there was a sign for pick up.  We waited maybe 15 minutes longer and along came our bus.  We got on and got to the airport in plenty of time.  Again both of our flights were on time and  we were pretty close to the next gate when we got to Chicago. We made it back to Cedar Rapids about 2:30.  I dropped Sherri off and headed home to get ready for my next adventure.
